Mia's musings: Accelerated Reading

Well, I completely condradict Frankie when it comes to Accelerated reader.
I think it is absouletly rubbish.
It wouldn't let me have fun with books and was constantly moaning that I wasn't reading enough. I was, just  not that much on the books registered in that drivel. I completely DO NOT reccomend it. ( Angry Face) Meh. It gives you a score out of ten from questions on the book, which are normally completely irrelevant to the plot of the story. And they are easier than easy. I mean, one book I read was 'My mum's from Planet Pluto!'. The question was: What Planet does Michael ( I think) refer to as his mum coming from?
Answer: Pluto.
What a suprise! ( sarcastic voice )
It got in the way of my school life and teachers were constantly nagging about it. Also, there was only one computer you could do it on, and twenty children trying to get on it. Not exactly fun. Children running around the classrooms like headless chickens wondering why there not on it yet. Oh. Only because there is another 23 kids lining up next to it.

Grrrrrr.

P.S I am debating whether to get a raffle ticket for the Guiness Book of records 2013. They are twenty pence from my school. Post with what you think

Frankie's foughts on Accelerated Reader

At my school we have a system called Accelerated Reader. On it you have to do tests on books you have read. Recently I did a test on The Wreck of the Zanzibar by Michael Morpurgo and got 10/10.

After each test it gives you a report and tells you how many points you got over all the school year, how many words you have read overall, quizzes taken and quizzes passed.

I think it is a very good system because it makes sure you have read the book and understood it.

NOTIFICATION: Comments

Many people ( well Mum) has said that they cannot post comments because of some stupid google thing. Sorry for this technical difficulty. Our computer master mind ( Dad) is working on this issue as I speak.
Thank-you for co-operation,
Mia
P.S I love being posh :)

Mia's musings: Skyfall

Well hi! Looks like it's me again! (groan)
I bet you're all chuffed I decided to turn up again.
Well, I remembered earlier that I had nowhere near finished my research into Skyfall. I decided that I was going to write a bit of research, so to call it, on 007's new adventure.
Well I think lets start with the basics. Bond, as we all know, is mums heartthrob, Daniel Craig. M is played by Dame ( I think) Judi Dench. Those are the only characters I actually know. I am learning too (I hope you are, because this takes an awful lot of effort on my part). It was released in 2012. ( obviously) and it is the twenty third Bond movie. I must say the songs quite catchy. I've learnt the words because I've heard it about 60 times on the radio.
IMDb has rated it 8.2 out of 10.
How much would you rate it?
This is how IMDb has described it: Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

I have no idea who M is. Mum says she is head of MI6.

Frankie's foughts : Extremely LOUD & incredibly CLOSE

Extremely loud and incredibly close, is a movie featuring a 11 year old boy, Oskar (Thomas horn) , who's dad died in the Twin towers. He found a key a year after in his dads wardrobe hidden in a blue vase and is on a mission to find which lock it opens.

I would recomend it from ages 9 and above as it is very sad.(Though still very good.)
And would rate it 9/10.

Mia's musings: Skyfall

http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1074638/
Skyfall is the new James Bond 007 movie. It's supposed to be brilliant, mum and dad went to see it yesterday evening and I got stuck at home being babysitted. Lets not say I was the happiest girl on Planet earth. I don't actually know much about it, but hopefully at the end of all my posts you will know more.
All I know pretty much is that annoying song that gets on all our nerves. Sskkkkyyyfaaaaaalllll tiiiiiilllll wwweee cruuuuuuuuuummmbllleee

Mia :)

Hope to write more soon.

Frankies Foughts: Kung Fu Panda the novel

Rating out of 10: 8

Kung Fu Panda: The novel

This week I read Kung Fu Panda: The novel. It is full of highly fascinating things as Po becomes the dragon warrior. He faces tough challenges, from being a noodle chef to becoming the protector of his valley. Po is faced with the dangerous warrior Tai Lung and most defeat him in an epic showdown.
I would highly recommend this book, but for ages 6-10 as I guess it's quite childish.
